I won’t be impressed with technology until I can download FOOD!





Hello ......This is my first post on here..so I thought that I would say hello and tell you a little about myself so that you can get to know this quirky, whimsical English lady who cooks... and writes.

The above title is one I just love.... So love that title! This old grey matter is still puzzling about how it could be done but at least it has given me something to think about…like I need another thought in this brain of mine….I’m sure if anyone travelled through my mind they would come out staggering, their face a picture worth taking for posterity….. it would probably go viral…such are the workings of my mind…ha ha

Come on! Come on! I can just hear you ….she is rambling again!  Is it not RECIPE time??????

No! Not today ....
Today I tell you about me how I love to cook and I cook from the heart,  any cuisine...I do not use packets, jars and ready made food....I cook from scratch...Always have and always will... Is it complicated...In a word...NO!

I don't do complicated.

Just good home cooking.....

Retired and living in Thailand, my home on the outskirts of a town in the North of Thailand is a haven of peace and quiet.


I am working on my first novel and have had short stories published in an Anthology by Phuket Writers. so exciting times for me hence the title of my first blog Retired No One Told Me!

I am having a wonderful ride and don't want to get off...so if you wish to follow me in my adventures around Asia and try the recipes that I find...then welcome! Some will be favourites that you may have had in a restaurant or if you have visited Asia and some will be local Thai dishes and may make you say Yuk but sometimes if you can get past the initial Yuk...you may find that you like it.

I hope you enjoy and it encourages you to take a step into the unknown and untried...You know you want to don't you?
